This wonderful vintage intact newspaper magazine called the New York News Coloroto Magazine dated August 31, 1964, is rare as these thin newspaper magazines were often tossed out with the rest of the Sunday newspaper. It has 23 numbered pages + the 2 covers. It is oversized in size, measuring 13 1/4 inches by 10 3/4 inches. On the front cover of this issue is the lovely young actress Sue Lyon who was very popular in the 1960s. There is a brief bio on the front inside cover wherein it mentions that her first movie role was LOLITA. I lived as young lady working in Los Angeles starting in 1963 until 2004, and I well recall many things happening n the movie industry in those days. I think you will enjoy this issue. These fun news magazines covered such topics as pictorial and written word on social news, animal world, food, fashion, celebrity, and there's always the ads relative to the decade. Some of the articles within are (1) "The Compulsive Comic" (Marty Ingels) with two color pictures, (2) "Pint-Sized Palmers " with a page of B&W pictures of young children golfing, (3) a lovely B&W picture of actress Mitzi Gaynor and one of Bobby Vinton a singer who appeared on American Bandstand and had some big hit records, (4) a one page article with pictures of children staying at St. Michaels Home in New York learning the value of animals as best friends, (5) article "Harnessing public interest" regarding Roosevelt Raceway, (6) 1-page pictorial on Ocean Grove New Jersey, (7) a 2-page color pictorial on Webb Institute of Naval Architecture, (8) a page of "Teen-Age Party Food" with large color picture and recipes, (9) a 2-page B&W pictorial article "Watchdogs on the Job" featuring man's best friend, and (10) 2 page color pictorial article on "Canvasing New York Harbor The old paper has good paper smell--unlike some vintage paper collectibles. If these are your interests, I think you will really enjoy collecting this hard-to-find magazine. CONDITION: I would say it is good condition, especially considering that it is over a half century old. The spine of the front and back cover is still connected but just barely but the rest of the pages have good connection and there is no writing on the pages--not even the crossword puzzle, and for its many years, I think you will be surprised how well this held up. The price you see above is total and includes free shipping within the USA by Priority Mail.
